MATHURA-“Birthplace of Lord Krishna”, Mathura is considered one the most religious places in North India. This town is dotted with temples and has 25 ghats on the banks of Yamuna. Pilgrims come here throughout the year but Pilgrims come especially at the time of Holi and Janmashtam celebrations.

Mathura is believed to be the birthplace of Krishna which is located at the Krishna Janmasthan Temple Complex. It is one of the Sapta Puri, the seven cities considered holy by Hindus. Mathura was the capital of the kingdom of Surasena, ruled by Kansa, the maternal uncle of Krishna. Janmashtami is grandly celebrated in Mathura every year.
The best time to visit Mathura is during winter, between the months of October and March. Mathura is connected by road with Delhi 3 to 4 hours of drive and Agra 1 to 2 hours of drive. Mathura is well connected by train with Agra, Bharatpur, Sawai Madhopur , Kota, and many more cities as well as states. The Taj Express runs daily between Matura to Delhi which takes 2½ hours to reach to Mathura.
